Incredible things are happening with digital photography. New digital cameras are coming out all the time with new functions and capabilities. Photoshop allows you to do things never dreamt of. Unfortunately no one takes a whole systems view of all the components. To get good results, things have to be fine tuned to match one another. Frequently the default options with imaging software and digital cameras are not optimized for what you want to do. With digital photography, you trust your images to a computer, what happens if the computer disk fails? People are finding there is nowhere to turn to help them get beyond these issues.
Many years ago, I purchased an early Nikon Coolscan scanner and an Epson PhotoStylus printer thinking I would be able to print my own images. I quickly discovered that it wasn’t as easy as it seemed. What was on the screen never seemed to match what I printed. To get the results I wanted, I would print page after page making corrections as I went to get the desired results. Ink and paper costs were eating me alive. There had to be a better way.

Over the past 10 years I’ve fine-tuned my skills and now rarely need to print a second page. Prior to my current life, I was in Information Technology for over 25 years and I know my way around a computer. I spent time mastering the fundamentals of color management, digital photography workflow, digital cameras, scanners and the current crop of photo quality printers. Now I shoot primarily with my Nikon D200 and D2X digital cameras. I sell prints produced from my Epson printers, including an Epson 7800 wide format printer. All my promotional pieces are being produced on Epson desktop printers.
Both Adobe and Apple have developed excellent workflow management systems, Lightroom and Aperture, these applications allow you to store keyword, rate and export your images. A thorough working knowledge of either of the excellent systems will allow you to archieve, backup, locate and export your images. I am knowledgible on both systems and can help you select and implement one or the other of these to meet your needs.
I can help you with the knowledge I’ve gained getting to this point. I can help you set up your system, choose equipment and software, teach you the fundamentals of how to use your digital camera. I can also help you develop a workflow that takes into account how you shoot and how to backup your data to minimize the risk of losing images. Finally I can help troubleshoot perplexing issues.
