Have you recently purchased or are you planning on purchasing a Digital SLR Camera? Confused about how to set it up to get the most of its’ capabilities? Confused about the format you should use? Confused about memory cards and other equipment? What about your computer system? Confused about what software is required and how to set it up.

If so then this is the workshop for you. The course covers everything from the trade offs between the major camera manufacturers offerings to detailed explanations of how to set the options, the equipment required and how to shoot to get the most from your camera. From custom functions, to exposure to white balanace no stone will be left unturned. Finally the post exposure process will also be covered in detail. How to load your images into the computer, name the files to avoid duplication, keyword them so they can be located, and how to store and back them up so they won't be lost.

However this isn't just a series of lectures, I'll spend most of the time with you shooting exercises designed to reinforce the concepts. While the shooting is in and around my home in Southern Lousiaina, I provide interesting subjects to make the experience enjoyable. I'll also go through each of the camaera functions and insure you have the set up properly for your style of photography.

While laptops and a large desktop machine is provided and a loaner digital camera is available, participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras and laptops to enable them to set everything up at the course.

The format of the workshop is an evening session and two very full days of work. Friday evening will be spent getting to know each other and fine tunning the material to be covered. With the small group the workshop will be customized to cover precisely what you want.
